What is Tui Na Anmo?
Die Da Ke (Mandarin) commonly translated as fall and hit medicine is the
traditional art of healing injuries. Die Da deals with the prevention and
treatment of many different types of musculo-skeletal disorders; sprains,
strains, bruises, dislocated joints, broken bones.
Die da ke has been an integral part of traditional kung fu for centuries.
Physical exercise, conditioning and physical contact are all parts of
martial arts training. Risk of injury in martial arts is an unavoidable
factor and may occur at one time or another due to a variety of reasons;
such as getting hit, falling down, pulling or tearing muscle, improper
technique etc.
Die da uses a variety of methods or combination of, such as extensive use of
tui na, dian xue, chi massage, herbal medicine, moxibustion and cupping to
treat injuries depending on the type, severity or other important factors.
Chinese massage used for healing can be described as a combination of
several different techniques. Tui Na (push grab) works by manipulating the
soft tissues and articular relationships of the physical body, circulating
blood, body fluids, and activating the chi energy system. Chi or vital
energy sustains our life and health by flowing through specific channels in
our body.
Dian Xue (cavity point) is also referred to as acupressure used on specific
channel points. External Chi healing method or Wai Chi Lao Fa is a curative
technique based on the idea that a practitioners energy can be used to
influence the energy of a patient, perhaps to push or otherwise shift the
patient’s own energy into a more balanced state.
